Well, in addition to the dark genre shorts program on March 11th – dubbed the “70% Dark” Shorts Program – there also appears to be a pair of stunning-looking feature films included on the roster that day! CRUSHED, a darkly insightful “environmental thriller” will follow-up the two-hour genre short film program; CRUSHED had already won its filmmakers Best Australian Director award at Fantastic Planet Film Festival 2015, Best Thriller Feature Film and Best Lead Actress at Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival 2015. After this, and slipping slightly away from the dark side of genre filmmaking, VIWIFF presents END OF DAYS, INC., a “delightfully bizarre and genre-bending comedy” to close out the day of genre treats.
The VIWIFF runs March 8 – 13 at the Vancity Theatre.
